need help with a coin i have

lo guys im new on here so go easy on me lol

i need help with a coin i have had it about 4 years or so but have no idear what it is

one side has what looks like queen vic on the other a crest with the date 1780 which can not be right ????

Maria Theresa Taler. Google it! The date was frozen at 1780 but the coins are usually always modern re-strikes.

You are correct Chris. Most are Sterling Silver restrikes. Their value is basically bullion value, sometime a little more!

I always heard it was 92%, but I could be wrong. I just looked at mine (Ive had it 40 years!), and it doesn't say any fineness or grain weight on it. It is a restrike though, and is uncirculated. A nice coin!

yea usualy worth £8-10

i spent £8 on one of those, always nice to have at least one in a collection

just a quick one guys is this a penny or equal to . it is the same size but says 1/3 of a shilling from jersey
