Chris Perkins Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I'm advising everyone that phones me to put them on ebay and benefit from the artificial hype. I don't think you'll raise many eyebrows here because the coins aren't actually that rare and anyone that wants one either has one or is no doubt waiting for the price to find it's natural level before buying one. Right now they go for around £200, so go for it.
Guest Undated20P Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 hey chris thanks for the speedy reply...its currently sat on ebay for £250 so yes there is still some mugs out there ehehe i work in retail and was wandering if theres any other coins i should keep an eye out for as u can imagine i have access to a lot...ive heard about the "new pence" but just wandered if there was a specific date that was rare and also the 2pound coin...
Chris Perkins Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 The varieties of 1992 10p and 20p (mentioned recently in the forum, but I can't remember where). But rare doesn't always mean expensive because there isn't as much demand for those as there is for the mule 20p. And also, the mule 20p is a variety which is easy for the public to identify, unlike the others. And it's just the 1983 NEW PENCE 2p that's rare. Due to the 20p hype people have started contacting me with stupid 1970s and early 80s NEW PENCE coins, which is of course perfectly normal! And people are also reporting all kinds of other errors, mostly on 20p's because everyone is looking closely at 20p's.
