No I don't have anything on German commems. I've had some silver ones myself in the past. Graf von Zepellin seem to be the most popular, but von Hindenberg is also very popular (and historically more significant).

Hi, new here and my first post, so i hope i don't break the rules by posting a German coin forum website, it deals in everything German, in fact it might help other users also with German coins. I myself am Scottish but living in Munich, got into coins last year and have decided to try and go for the British stuff after going through a lot of German coins, but obviously being in Germany i'm competing with a lot of people, so i decided to be a Brit in Germany collecting Brit coins instead.

Just picked up a 1935 Jubilee Crown proof "raised edge lettering" for absolute buttons compared to what i see them selling for on ebay etc, also got an EF halfcrown 1825 for a great price, next one am looking at is a George III crown 1820/19 graded EF, but i'm digressing here.

The website will help determine the coin http://www.emuenzen.de/forum/ i do have a few books for German coins, but that isn't in it.

Where in Germany are you Chris? And can i make a suggestion, you have some ebooks avaliable to buy and download, is it possible to make avaliable some Krause ebooks for the periods 1701-1800 1801-1900 just curious.

If it helps anyone, the standard catalogue for German coins is called the Jaeger book, like Krause which have a KM number German coins have J (Jaeger) number, this is the book most German coins are valued by, i have the book from Kaeisereich 1871 up to present, but they do a book for older years.

Let me know how it goes, they do have an English section on the website for those that don't speak German

Thanks for the link azda. I don't collect German coins or medals specifically, I collect world gold coins and medals. I just really liked the look of the Von Hindenburg medal. Could you post a picture of it for me on that forum asking if anyone knows the mintage for these?

As for the Krause DVD's and CD's I think there will be a few pirate copies out there but I was also told that you can download the originals to your hard drive and then you don't need to use the discs. If this is true I can see why some might sell them. The only problem I can think of is if your computer gets knackered and you need to format the hard drive you will loose the information.

It is a nice piece, a bit out of my area of expertise though. I myself am interested in the Graf Zeppelin medals, especially the gold from that era.

Hi Husslo i'll copy and past the pic u posted and leave it on the german site and will get back to you as soon as i get some good info. Also the Krause books, you can download them, i have 2 books 1 of 1601-1700 and 1901 to present, the 1601 is an ebook but i bought the other, i'd just like to fill in the blank years so to speak.

You can always use backup drives for all your important info, i have a 640gig backup drive and my C drive is partitioned also, so if C goes pear shaped D is ok, unless the whole drive is kaput, hence the reason for a USB 640 gig backup lol

Ok, i got the Frau to post the message on the German site, it goes like this:

Hallo,

It basically asks how many were made, how heavy they should be and what the value of it is.

I'll get back to you when i have a few replies, people generally give a few opinions, so when i have a few of the same i'll send the info
