Not sure if this helps, but here is a picture of my contemp forged half crown dated 1819. I found out that the half crowns around this period were a big target for forgers, but almost all were made of copper and silver plated (as mine) Although the poor quality of my picture does not show it, there is still traces of silver on mine, but most has worn off.

Also, when I checked this forgery against a real Half Crown of this date, I could not find fault with the overall design .

Yes - the copper silver-washed forgeries of the era were more often than not amazingly good copies. Either they got hold of genuine dies (and with a Recoinage of that size and scale there must have been one hell of a lot of dies used), or they used genuine BU coins as a matrix, perhaps in wax, to produce their own dies.

I hope someone can help me. I found a british coin about a year ago and not to sure if its fake or not. Its an silver coin and it says VICTORIA D:G:BRITANNIAR:REGINA F:D: But its got no date on the coin and also on the back its got flowers with some sort of patten going arond them. Its got a very small hole above the head. The head is looking left and she looks young. very thin coin and the size of the coin is about the size of an 5 pens coin.

Hi wizkid - sounds like a very worn out Victorian 3d piece minted from 1838 to 1887. They were often attached to bracelets etc, hence the hole which apart from the large amount of wear unfortunately means that it is worth no more than scrap value. If you want a more authoratative answer, try posting a picture.
