Mystery coin - clueless owner

Hello everyone

Many years ago, my grandfather used to do house clearances. I was 6 years old when a distant relative of ours died, and he took me along to clear the house of rubbish. When i discovered a small bag of coins i was delighted, and i was allowed to keep it. Inside where mostly victorian pennies, but also one strange coin, which i kept in a special box. Now 20 years on, i would like to know what it is, and thought maybe this forum could help me. Its the same size as a modern 10p
