HI im new here, im looking for scrap silver, scrap silver coins!

Im a private buyer and want to buy silver and hold it, i dont intend to sell it on for melting down etc!

Does anyone have any Silver for sale, I can offer a better price than any of these 'buy your gold/silver' places!

Or could anyone point me in the correct direction!

Im in the UK in NORFOLK East Anglia

due to people trying to con me with rubbish, and lies about items lost in the post

Well Jay, I'm not too sure too many on here will be willing to part with their silver coins.. I had the impression it wasn't the done thing on here, and considering I myself deal in metals (gold, Platinum, palladium, silver etc), I didn't think it appropriate :D

Thankyou I can see your point,,

which is why I just wanted to make it clear I would not be selling them on to melt down etc!

Purely to hold as a value of money!

I realy dont think its the right thing to be menlting down such historical and important peices of the UK's past!

Thankyou for replying and thankyou all for looking at my post

I think the problem is Jay, that there can't be many of us here who have paid scrap silver prices for our coins. So we'd probably want a price that reflects what we paid.

Since I don't buy coins for what they are made from but for their historical value mine might prove a bit pricy. With a quick calculation suggesting a minimum of $120/oz (and I haven't bought anything at that price in quite a while) up to perhaps $10000/oz I doubt you'd be very interested.

If you're an INVESTOR - then go out and buy the highest grade pre-1920 George V silver you can afford. Preferably Uncirculated. Those will bring the best returns IN THE LONG RUN.

If you're not an investor (and you don't sound like a collector), then you're probably in the wrong forum. ;)
