1905 one penny colon dot missing?

Recommended Posts

Hi, found an 1905 Edward VII penny today that has a dot on the colon after GRA missing, is this a known variety?

If so is there any value? The coin is in fine condition just wondering whether to put it on ebay as i dont want to keep it,thanks

Actually you can just make out the faint trace of the dot. It's partly a combination of uneven wear (the higher dot is more protected by the rim) and a partly worn or filled die. That's my opinion anyway.

Sadly the coin doesn't have any extra value.

Thanks for your comments guys,After a really close look i think i agree with you, Its fascinating how some coins wear in what would seem to be uneven ways dont you think?

As others have said, it is definitely there, but just faint. Actually it is clearer if you look at the pic from underneath, as it were.
