Coin Events in London

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody!

I'm a german coin collector focussed on (modern) world coins, thematic coins (olympic games etc) as well as for example former German, DDR and russian coins.

It happened to be that I have to go to London twice a month for work, but I have some spare time and I wondered if there are any(regular) coin fairs and auctions. And also are there any magazines or internet pages promoting them? I heard about the magazine "Coin News" by token publishing. Does anybody in this forum read that paper and knows if there's a calendar or an "events" overview?

I would really be thankful for your help!

Sincerely,

Manuel

Hi there, i to am in Munich, although i'm Scottish. I think somewhere on the forum there is a calendar with dates for coin fairs and auctions. I don't read the coin news although i do have the coin yearbook for referencing values etc.

Coin News does have a section entitled 'Diary Dates' which includes details of all forthcoming events, including fairs. The only problem is that the magazine only includes dates for the month of issue plus the next one. So the May 2010 includes May and June only. The current May issue shows just the London Coin Fair on 5 June at The Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury. All the others are well away from the capital I'm afraid.

You might find this link useful. It's a diary of coin fairs, including those which take place in London.

Thank you very much. So I might have a look into Coin News but the calendar on hammeredcoin looks very intersting, too! again, thanks a lot for that. i checked the calendar on this site but it was only showing birthdays of forum users - not exactly what i was looking for (except you would make big parties and invite me  )
