looking for work

I am unemployed at present and looking through a number of sites and the way they are set up I was asking myself if I could openly inquire about work without anyone getting pissed with me AND calling me names for trying to advertise my wares without having to pay for it. But that is not what I am trying to do. I have found myself in a situation where my past time has given me an idea and maybe an opportunity to see if I could manage to become employed. I have fallen on hard times I have just spent the best part of 3 years recovering from operations and getting used to a wheelchair and accepting that I will have to make this damn chair my legs. It is a giant pain because I am not able to get employed because although people do not say so having someone disabled working in your office is an extra cost and risk so no one really want to take the chance. I just spent the last year working for some online companies that paid me $1.00 to write articles of 500 words and the article became theirs. I did it to get my hand back into working and to try to get to rebuild a CV. I am a skilled man I can build and develop database; I can use spreadsheets and presentations in fact any Microsoft applications I can use to a high standard I have office 2007 on my computer and I can use it. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT WOULD BE WILLING TO EMPLOY ME ON A FREELANCE BASIS? I am good at my job and would be willing to take on work at short notice. I hold an ICDL International Computer driving License. I have a City and Guilds in Desk top Publishing, I hold Certificates of further education in Presentation; Database; Excel; Word; Outlook and Outlook Express; Javascript; But I can not get a job because as soon as I say I am disabled I get the impression that they would have to make adjustments to their office space to accommodate me I am not looking for charity I am looking for work so if you good people have work that you need doing on any of the above applications and you would be happy for me to work from home my rates are very competitive and my work is accurate. I am dependable and trustworthy and I could learn more about my hobby too. I am very good at my work.

While I admire your initiative Mikey, I'm not certain this is the best way to go about finding employment. Most of us members come here just to discuss our interests and to socialise.

Yes, there are some members who sell coins as well as collect. And they often have their own website. But I'm not entirely clear how you might see this tie in with your skills. Are you offering to write articles about coins? In which case it might help if you tell us more about your hobby. What interests you and what do you know about? What do you collect?

Or do you have web skills? Can you design a website for someone? What was you employment before?

These are the things that might help someone here think 'Oh, I could use a bloke who can do that!' Maybe. Oh, and good luck.
