That's a strange question, I'll do what I have done before and compare coins to one of my other interests:

How much are Volkswagen Golfs worth 1980 - 1990?

The same as with coins, it depends on the date/variety and most importantly, the condition. A worn Golf may just be worth scrap value (same goes for coins), a mint condition VW Golf with low mileage may be worth considerably more...Same goes for coins.

That's very true, and the same for pennies of course if you take 'red' in the American sense, meaning lustre. Very sly Slyvester!

i am new to this field. i know nothing about coins.

i have got one dated 1914 and other dated 1917. 1914 one is in good conditions but 1917 is not in good condition.

if i want to sell where do i sell these coins?

also, what are the rare british coins.

It depends on how 'good' your good is. Coins are graded precisely, and the value depends on the exact amount of wear. If they are both very circulated they will be worth very little.
