1858 Victoria Penny

Recommended Posts

I have a 1858 Penny with the A missing from VICTORIA in the legend. Is this rare or worth any thing? (could use a new yacht  )

They usually occur when parts of the die fills during striking, usually get a faint outline, this wears with age/use, under a lens you will probably find traces.

I wouldn't say they are worth a great deal more than the usual price for the grade.

One of my examples

I think the system was hacked again, I got the weird text only version earlier, plus a warning flag from my anti virus software (AVG). Images disappeared last time IIRC

I forget to mention the same could occur with a mis strike, this could leave weak impressions on

both sides of the coin
