For my sins, I am a supporter of Wycombe Wanderers FC and last Saturday we played away at Stevenage. I am far too tight fisted to buy a programme, but my friend did. On about page 17 was a half page advert for KB Coins. Does seem strange that Keith Bayford (if I remember his name correctly) should advertise in such an odd place where the chances of it striking a chord with anyone (apart from me) must be close to zero. Unless of course he was elsewhere in the ground and the advert was merely a contribution to the cause.

Don't expect many responses but just struck me as unusual.

We won 2-0 by the way.

Maybe he's a sponsor Derek, sponsors generally get mentioned somewhere, whether on the ad boards or in the programmes

Wrong shaped ball for me.

I dunno if it's that odd, sponsors come from every walk of life. Club I played for's chief sponsor was a third team player's missus who ran a very successful wedding cake business.

Divorce lawyer would have been more appropriate....

Whilst on the question of sponsorship, the best one that springs to mind was Carlton Palmer when he played for Southampton (maybe still does?) - he was sponsored by Bursledon Sunday Market and Car Boot.

Keith is a mad keen supporter, hence the sponsorship.

Well, this has been addressed already, but as an aside, I would agree that you're not going to get too many coin collectors in the average football ground.

I'm an Ipswich Town supporter by the way ~ cultivated by my upbringing in Essex.

The only team who don't use sponsorship is Barcelona, if they did, they'd get quite some cash. The last time i saw, they had UNICEF accross their strip, don't know what they have now though
