A guide to buying coins on ebay

Recommended Posts

Hi Huss, I did try to send you a personal message but I think your inbox is full. My message though isn't really personal, and so this is what I was going to say;

'That's a really good guide and you should be congratulated, so my comments are restricted to one minor suggestion and one typo. Firstly, under 'Buy from sellers with good feedback' you have stated 'true (not 'too') good to be true'. Secondly, in my experience blurry pictures and only a few transactions (i.e. somebody who doesn't buy and sell much on e-bay) can be a good way of getting bargains. However, blurry pictures and feedback in the thousands points towards the seller deliberately attaching a poor image, and therefore ay potential purchase should be treated with extreme caution.

Hope this helps.

Derek'

I've just finished adding a my guide to buying coins on ebay. I would be grateful for any feedback.

http://www.coinsgb.com/Buying_Coins_On_Ebay.html

Can you think of anything that has been missed or needs to be changed?

Hi Huss,

In addition to what Derek has said, I've noted a typo under "Buy from listings with clear pictures" ~ on the last line of that, I think you mean "hoped", rather than "hopped".

I might also add about about watching for shill bids in auctions.

Other than that, a very good & comprehensive guide.

Thanks for the feedback guys I really appreciate it. I've taken account to the replies here and on other forums and added a link to Toolhaus as well as an extra section on postage and communication.

I apologise for any spelling mistakes, to be fair I'm not the Worlds greatest spellers and it was 1am when I finished it but I think its okay now?

P.S. I've cleared some of my messages Derek but I'm happy you posted your points on the forum as its good to get a discussion going.

Many thanks,

Hus
