Hi,

The first thing to establish is whether they are genuine (how were they found, where were they found and might be worth getting one checked by someone with token expertise to authenticate them). If they are genuine they appear to be a very collectable token, these larger tokens tended to be susceptible to edge damage.

However bear in mind a find of that quantity will inevitably flood the market and will lower the prices, because what may have been a scarce token has now become less scarce

If he is planning to sell them it may be tricky as there is sometimes not enough demand to shift 207 of them quickly.

thanks for fast responce,ive seen the ebay sale or atemped sale of the token in the link.these tokens have been handed down, I don't think they could be fakes because of the detail, it would have taken a very fine die maker to make coins of this Q . I have surgested that some one may have got there hands on the die's and stamped them out at a latter date. would like authenticate these token's advice on this matter please? again thank's for your replies.

This issue would fit the bill perfectly. If you have a mint state one and want to sell, that would only leave 206 to go.

There is no immediate reason to think they might be fakes. They were listed as Staffordshire no.123 in W J Davis' 19th century Token Coinage, first published in 1904 and illustrated on plate D no.9.
