Irish token on ebay

This bloke just got on my *&*s! How terribly inaccurate of me to put the word 'conder' in the title. He starts his correction by quoting me (see description and questions):

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180616704913

Is it just me taking it personally, or was that a bit anal?

If it's fine with Larry to list it in that category then it must be OK!

Unfortunately, eBay is full of sad people who just like being d&%£$s to everyone else, and picking minor faults with everything.

Wow, just read your reply. Remind me not to cross you, Chris :D

I feel bad now, re-reading it!

In my experience though if people are a bit 'off' over email etc, for example when customers ask where an order is and you can tell they're about to call the police and between the lines they call you a criminal, because you've 'got their money' and they've waited 3 days! I find simply being bitingly direct but not vulgar or rude (at least not openly) and above all honest, generally results in an apology and some groveling.

Quite satisfying really. It's amazing how many upset customers I've turned into pussycats.

Bit of an over reaction perhaps.

These kind of storms in tea cups happen often in the digital age, it is important to remember that in 'real' life, words are only a small part of how we communicate. Many of the other aspects such as tone, nuance, body language, smiles etc, etc are lost entirely and we are just left with stark words which on occasion can be taken the wrong way. Also, it empowers certain individuals who become cyber tigers and are very much braver and more opinionated than they would be face to face.

Which is why the facebook generation has no social skills whatsoever and has to text you or send you an email from 4 feet away.

Only my opinion (worth nothing) but if it was me, I'd probably take the whole correspondence down, it doesn't edify the item any.

Regards.

I'll leave it on the item. In a few days it'll all be over and forgotten.
