This tin Farthing was actually named in an auction lot as a tin farthing of James!!!

If Carlsberg did tin Farthings I can gaurantee you that they wouldn't do this one!

Free to a good home, so if anybody wants it (at least the plug is good) drop me a PM.

It's a William and Mary, any fool can see that.

Actually, if Carlsberg did tin farthings it's exactly as I would expect them.

I thought about selling that plug to Colin or Peter. Then I thought I might just keep hold of it in view of the rising metal prices. Then I finally decided that it would at least be a type example for a new collector until they could afford to buy an overpriced one from me or you :D

The plug is GF....I thought my tin farthing was rubbish....I've stuck to copper including a few Lennoxs, Richmonds etc

I really need to source a few varieties indicated from Colin's site.My half dozen 1859's include shamrock attached and unattached...not that I had really noticed....why I have 6 is a mystery...don't tell me about 1720 or 1721...I have more than you could shake a stick at.

My parents have given me £100 for coins (birthday and Xmas) every year for the last 20 years...I did buy gold and hammered....a nice return.

have to agree, its a james..........you were foolish to get rid of it though as its clearly the very rare lowtide,46 tooth border 8 over 7 variety.

No Peter, HM Govt took them all back when they closed the pits.

We have to stand outside when it rains now and we can't afford coal because it used to be free for miners but now they buy it in from Poland or somewhere.

By eck lad, it's cowld up North!

Not only that, but you can't get jellied eels anywhere - mystery to me how you've survived this long.

Black puddings from Bury market or tripe beat jellied eels any day. Though if I was abroad (or south of the Watford Gap), I'd still eat them. Not all foreign food is bad.

And to get it back on topic - just about anything is more palatable than the tin farthing served up at the beginning of this thread.
