Flooring

Recommended Posts

After spending an enjoyable evening cleaning carpets and a fortune on cleaning fluid (we have a springer who swims in the local river and luvs wabbits and birdies)...hence mucky paws.

Is laminate or wood flooring the best for our lounge and dining room. The dining room leads off to the conservatory where he exits and enters for a wee.

The laminates at homebase or Topps tiles seem a good option...but as you only do it once is proper wood any better...and yes I will get a skin in to lay it.

Homebase are offering 15% discount this weekend..any tips or experiences would be appreciated.

Peter,

Timber is much more hard wearing, but as with anything will require maintenance from time to time. Laminates are great if the floor is going to get some stick. I have used B&Q Loc I think it was called before and as long as you have the water resistant one it does take a pounding and wears really well, comes up a treat every time it is cleaned :D

Never used timer personally to date so perhaps someone who has used it may be better to comment

Personally for a dog that loves all that, i'd buy slate tiles, claws tend to scratch wood

I'd go for slate tiles as well. Much harder wearing and very easy to clean.

Be prepared for myriad edge knocks, laminate is much more numismatics friendly.
