Can anyone tell me what denomination this coin is .....

its either a sixpence or a shilling, if its an 1889 shilling then its quite rare with the jubilee head on, but can't quite make the date out. I see the arabs lost the day :(

No problem, you can upload 150kb per post so maybe upload 2 seperate pictures and try and get the diameter size if you can, this is when digital verniers come in handy. Its also about a Fine grade, thats aF, a little less than Fine, just my opinion though. I might also be over for a wee visitation in April, just to breath some Scottish air and a swallie :)

Cheers azda, The coins are 23mm in Dia. 1mm thick

Dates are 1887, 1888, 1890.

The 1890 coin has an older Queens head on it ...

the 1889 shilling is the rare one with the Jubilee head on, at 23mm it would be a shilling

Personally I'd grade it as a Good.

But I'm going to trust azda's grading skills and call it a fine - therefore worth around a fiver.

Only if it's the small head. The larger JH is only worth what the other dates are.
