Your wish is my command. If my computer's not playing silly b*ggers, the second image is the ME. Quality may not be great in order to fit within the size limits.

Yes, it's playing silly b*ggers, it told me that was going to be 10 cm. across... You should however be able to download and enlarge if you have the right equipment.

Crikey, Derek. Is that your 26ME? Or is it a 27?

In the days of collecting pennies from circulation, I could spot an ME a mile off..... totally different expression, sadly they almost always turned out to be 1927 when turned over

Here's what I hoped would show the differences clearly, sadly it doesn't. The obverse on the left is Type 1, which was used for half the 1921 pennies, all the 1922s and most of the 1926s. On the right is the ME, used in 1926 and 1927.

The position of BM on the truncation is the main thing, also look at the colons, which are wider apart on the ME. The hair has been radically recut and wears differently, but it takes experience to spot this. The other thing, rarely commented on, is the tip of the moustache : on the first, it ends with a fair amount of width, on the ME it narrows almost to a point.

Hope this helps.

I can't add to the excellent comments above about recognising a 1926, but I can supply some excellent pictures. If you scroll down the page on the link supplied here, which is Tony Clayton's site, you will see large pics of a virtually UNC 1926ME and the two 1926 obverses side by side, as well as illustrations of the other pointers already given above.

'No it's my personal 26 ME' he lied.

Thank you everyone.

I had 55 1926 coins. 54 normal, 1 ME. I found the I of DEI pointing at the tooth the best way to know.

Here are the 3 other coins that I am not sure about. Any help appreciated.

If I get this wrong, I will try again tomorrow. If not, the links will work.

Standard 1895 penny in a nice VF

Standard 1863 penny in what's getting towards VF especially the reverse (rather too much wear on the hair though)

1861 penny in Fine, but you will need the experts in 1861 to tell you what particular die combination it is.

Was there anything particular you wanted to know?

1861 penny is Freeman 22, obverse 4 with reverse D

who is looking for them, you dont expect them, how many people spot the 1992 10p and 20p varietys?

xbox 360 key r4 card cheapest r4

Yep

I have no interest whatsoever.

there are absolutely no difference between the r4's these days. may of them are either clones of the actual r4 card, while others are clones of the acekard brand flashcarts. r4's may be popular, but every single one of them these days are fakes/clones, and there are heaps of better flashcarts to choose from.

Insert spam links into what looks like a genuine reply to a forum post.

Then follow them up with a spam reply that looks kind of genuine at first glance. Damn, these bots are getting cleverer!

They are only clever if the reader understands what the hell they are talking about. I've heard of the xbox, but that's about it. I still couldn't tell you what it does though.

Apparently it's called a 'console', and it plays games. Oh, and it fails often and spectacularly. Made by Microsoft.

That's about all *I* know. :P

Know all........

I'm still underwhelmed though.

To me, Spam will always come in a can, opened by a key that breaks half way around the lid, resulting in an increasingly bad tempered hacking with whatever implement is to hand, finally ending up as an unsatisfactory globular mess on my plate.

It tastes ok I think, I've never really made up my mind.

And this is NOT an invitation to reprise the Python sketch on the subject.

What's a Bot ?

Short for robot (unlike Rob :D ), i.e. an automatic - software - conveyer of spam without human intervention.

Rob is an automated consumer of Spam (or anything else, edible or not) without human intervention, or so I have been told.

What amazes me is, how easily led the human mind is. This was a topic about a 1926 ME Penny which turned into an XBOX, through to SPAM and then onto BOT......Brilliant, diversity is definately alive and well on this forum. BTW Call Of Durty on the XBOX is ace, spam, you must fry and my wife has a cracking bot

Okay I hold my hands up......I am an xbox gamer :unsure:

I have never tried Spam........is it worth a go?

Bots can also be helpful in getting your rankings up on search engines :)

Did someone mention a 1926 ME?

Azda - I couldn't agree more. Spam must be fried, and your wife does have a cracking bot, as I told her yesterday.:D

Colin. Ok, a hands free xbox. How do you control the thumb switches?

As for rankings on search engines, I am totally confused. It couldn't find me in the first 26 pages of a google search for "coin dealers manchester", but did manage to find a testimonial for a laundry machine. Weird or what? I guess that must have used one of these bots to improve the ranking, but for what reason is beyond me.
