Undated penny

Recommended Posts

Hello all this is my first post ever on any forum so here goes.

Some weeks ago i was looking through a bag of old pennys sorting them into their different dates and i came

across one with no date it is an Elizabeth II large old penny.I know you would want to see a picture but when

i try to attach this file it says it is to big to upload. Anyway a discription would be An ordinary Elizabeth

II 31mm penny good/fine condition traces of luster in exerge. no date, no signs of tampering even under a microscope. If someone could tell me how to get a really good picture on here i will. Plus is it possible such a

coin exists or could it have been cleverly alterd.

Thanks for your help, David. Here is a picture. The obverse is as standard on a EIIR penny

To me, but I stand to be corrected by the experts, it looks like the date has been mechanically erased. The lustre in the exergue just doesn't look right, nor does the texture of the metal.

Duplicate listing.

Yes, definitely tooled post production.
