Argon Gas

Recommended Posts

Would anyone know if this inert gas would harm a coin ?. I am toying with the idea of putting my coins inside sealed cases filled with Argon gas in an attempt to keep the shine etc on my coins in the long term. I have plenty of Argon gas being a mechanic and I used to weld a lot so have a supply.

Not a problem at all if you can seal the the container adequately. It is probably only worth going to the hassle of this for quality (and probably expensive quality) though.

I'm sure Michael Jackson tried something similar some years back and it didn't do him any harm. Oh no, wait...
