Ok so its not pre decimal. But does anyone seem to have noticed how the new 2011 £2 coins all seem to have marks on the inner part that are there as if the machine that pushes the centre in has left an image like two large () ?. I thought it was just grease or dirt so tried to remove it with a cotton bud, it remained though. Nasty mint people. Still it could be me.

I'd have preferred a nice Katy Perry or Beyonce in my change, Florence is getting a bit old and wrinkly now for my taste.

Yes - the nightingale one is rather lovely!

If I'm honest, I dont even know what the 2011 one is supposed to be commemorating! Let me think... 2011... eleven years since the millennium?! 143 years since some one did something?! 4.1billions years since the earth was formed?!

Pfft, isn't it obvious? The last two digits of the year, when added together, equals the first digit. Cause for rejoicing and celebration. :P

they have had those marks before, the 2008's especially, the quality of strike was sub par as well.

i got a darwin one. for 3 million minting figure it has taken this long to find any?

the 2012 one will probably commeorate 20 years since the resizing of the 10p or 1 year since last year or something.
