Roy Hodgson is new England boss and he's getting slated already. So bets at the ready as to how long he'll last?

18 months from me :-))

Trouble is, at least 50% of the male population think they could do a better job as manager. So unless he wins every match from now on he will inevitably receive scorn and derision

It's the British media he'll need to worry about, not the armchair fans. The gutter press seem to feel it is their duty to destroy England managers both professionally and personally.

I reckon he'll last a couple of years, unless Euro 2012 is a disaster.

All together now - "We're on the march with Hodgie's Army, we're gonna leave for the Euros via a helicopter that picks us up from Wembley.."

At least Levin has only got to beat San Marino at home to be be considered successful.

Hodgie is a Grammar school boy who can speak several languages. He played for Palace youth and then non league football.

I think Rednapp is an entertaining bloke but he can't write and I reckon he could of been a bit of a liability.

Especially if he had to have anything to do with numbers!

I find it Strange that redknapp was overlooked especially when he seemed the overwhelming odds on favourite to get the job.

According to the media, but then I guess it's the medias job to decide such matters.

the theory around these parts was his wife didnt want to move to the midlands where the new fa hq is, so he had already turned it down........the redknapps live in bournemouth...a big commute.

The 1978 Scots fans were the originators of the "We're on the march with ........ Army" chant. In their case it was "Ally's Army". He was the manager who sent his team off to the Argentina World Cup via a tickertape, helicopter send off from Hampden Park. So I just conflated the two things. :D

I think he was deliberately playing the village idiot at his tax trial. But he was never going to be picked as England manager after that anyway.

And when you compare the record of Harry with Hodgie, there's no comparison. What did Harry ever win, apart from one FA Cup?

Agreed. Roy has a proven track record of success, even if not the most charismatic guy in the world.
