I have a 1894 Crown which appears to have LVI on the edge - this isn't in the catalogue - is it genuine ?

1992 and 1893 both have LVI. 1894 could be an edge error. Could be of interest if it is the case.

Get an example EF+ or don't bother.Tight ship and all that.

Plus for over 100 years these have been studied.

However the close TT 1915 1/4d was only discovered 30 years ago.

I must of bought over 100 in the last 20 years..good job these go for nice £

over EF. :)

I might add the coins have all been common 1915's

LVI and LVII for 1893 and LVII and LVIII for 1894. This could be an edge error and I have not heard of one for the date, possible wrong collar. LVII for 1893 is quite scarce to rare in high grade. What grade is your piece and is there just a faint impression of an additional "I"?
