Recommended Posts

Hi all, just put a load of 20th century British on ebay towards my holiday fund. Only 3 weeks to go woohoo. Something for everyone except you hammered boys.

My ebay

:(

Good luck with the sales! I've put in a couple of bids as I haven't bought a milled coin in far too long. ;)

I'll be taking a look too, Gary! I hope I don't win any, as I'll only be after bargains so, fingers crossed, someone else will win, and you'll get the money you're after!

I don't think I'd ever consign a large number of coins to eBay auctions to generate cash, but good luck and fortune!

It's just a load of spares that have accumulated over the last few months.

I'm surprised that nobody has been on yet to point out my spelling gaffe. I know I should have submitted it first for spell checking but in the heat of the moment....

I'd bit, but alas international shipping is a bit high, however, when looking at them, it looks like your 1941 twopence shows a picture of your 1938 twopence :P

No1 son is in Mozambique with the school at the same time so just me and the misses this time. It will be hot but it's the rainy season now so could go either way. A bit like the UK without the hot.

Middling, some of the Maundy went well, assuming the American chap pays up. The 1908 penny went for £77, would have liked more, but for a pound hey. The 1915 Farthing only went for about £65, actually made a loss on that one, win some lose some.

I would of had the 1915TT for that price. :( It goes to show maybe rare/expensive varieties should go into proper auctions.

I expect you're right, Peter. I try and get my punters interested in esoteric varieties too, although not on the same level as Gary - stuff like 1953 Obv 2s, but they just can't get excited about them like I do.

The 1923 florin mule I bought from you, Gary, will probably stay in my collection for ever and never go near a punter!

Me too. :( I think there was a football match on at the time, or something? I was mildly interested in the 1908 penny, but not for £77. The only coin I'm really annoyed to miss was the 1923 florin. Pity I missed that one. I hope it went to a good home. Damn England and their bloody football team!!

Ah. That 1923 was the one of the two I got. Still don't have a telly, thank goodness!
