Identify George 4

As earlier message, I have a 1822 & 1824 George 4 copper part between the size of a farthing and a halfpenny.

Any Clues as to what they are.

I think you'll have to be a little more accurate with your sizes Bob, as farthing and halfpenny sizes changed sizes a few times from 1799 - 1967. Millimetres would help.

Bob, I think that the coins you have are copper Farthings. All of the 'Bronze' series (Farthings, Halfpennies and Pennies) used to be slightly bigger and made of copper rather than bronze, but this was changed in 1860 (i think that England did this because the French had changed their Copper's to Bronze's in 1852).

I thought we did it for the same reason as the French, but not because of them. Bronze is cheaper than copper and the coins were reduced in size to save money too.
