Their prices have always been a huge joke! I can't believe they sell much stuff, and yet they must - they're still in business (unless the coin business is a front for something else? [Any lawyers reading this, that was a joke  ] )

I'd be more than happy to get £245 for my VF 1696 Crown. £350 in Fine, what on earth do they charge for rarities? Oh, that's right, they don't deal in rarities at all

I was going to say something but despair has taken over... I really do wonder who they sell to, and where do I get their addresses from?!

This incomprehension and general disbelief at the prices looks like being an annual event! For last year's discussion. here

I moved house on February 29th, and they already know where I live.

Oddly enough I've gotten nothing from Coincraft :P

Would be funny to see if they'd pay international shipping to send their advertisements though

my dealer sold me one for £7 and all it has is a wee bit of dirt on it.

If they can sell 5 in week you will have to sell 25.

It is a bit like another BNTA member asking £90 for a F 1946 3d.

My purchase list is now limited although I can be tempted on other denominations...Farthings varieties 1st but I like a few hammered and selected top quality other coins.

As I said, I've steered clear of their photographic/logo branding a long time ago, I now never ever EVER waste a click to follow up even the most enticing title! The only eBayer I can say that this applies to!

Glad to see I'm not the only one that does this. In my younger days I bought some pre-Medieval pendants from them thinking they seemed fairly genuine but my friends at the British Museum soon identified them as early 20th century Indian folk jewellery... There is one other eBayer that I apply your law to, this one.

Their prices have been too high for the last few years now. In 2005 I bought a nice James I 1/2d mullet over bell for just over £50 all in, which wasn't cheap, but not OTT at the time. Maybe they have decided that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Ebay is full of overpriced tat and a few billion potential buyers who haven't a clue what they are bidding on or buying, so perhaps they are just trying to milk the market. Nobody is obliged to bid or buy, and at those prices hopefully nobody from this forum will waste their money.

It's true. Those that do their homework don't tend to spend vast sums of money on eBay.

Both with massive feedback so, in the absence of seeing anything cheap on their sites, who's laughing? Not at my expense fortunately!

I'm now 'Watching' that 1946 3d. If we all do that for a range of his coins, he will be filled with false hope of imminent sales, only for hand-rubbing to be replaced by hand-wringing when none materialise. :D :D :D
