Wow, that seems a rather nice price you got there!

It looks more like a specimen set than a proof set as described in the listing. Either way, still a good price.

I paid over £50 for the proof set in a red box.

The cheapo plastic sets minus the Crown are dirt cheap.

I think it's not the proof set looking at the case and the coins - you still got it for a good price though. Check the farthing in particular : if the + above Elizabeth's head, and the T of farthing on the reverse both point to the same thing (i.e. a space or a tooth), then you have one of the scarce varieties 1+B scarce or 2+A rare; if they point to different things, then it's one of the two common varieties 1+A or 2+B.

There are varieties for each and every 1953 denomination so they are all worth examining.

BU value is between £20 and £30 - if it becomes more popular, that could go up a fair way (undervalued IMO).

reverse

Nice :) You've got a plethora of reverse indicators - the downstrokes of the R T I or N can all be used as pointings

The example I used to own cost me 1c + $3.99 P&P on ebay in 2004. Ahhh. Those were the days. :)
