Richard III Documentary

Recommended Posts

I'm just watching the follow-up Richard III documentary 'the unseen story,' and I am so glad to find that THAT woman has been effectively gagged by some excellent editing.

The first programme was more 'reality TV' in style than a serious documentary, on account of her dramatic self-indulgences!

I watched the first one and kept expecting (hoping) that Tony Robinson would pop up and punch her lights out.

My 'favourite' bit of the first program was the incredulous look on the faces of the two Medical Consultants when The Woman had to leave the room on account of it being all too much FOR ALL OF US!

The second program was excellent, I look forward to more scientific facts emerging from the ongoing investigation.

Shame R3's not a cheap series to collect...will the prices go up?

Mine too. The chap's face especially - I've never seen such expression from a pair of raised eyebrows. :)

Likewise upset about the difficulties in finding affordable R3s. He's one of the few monarchs where I could provide a list of Good Things That He Did off the top of my head (the concept of bail, hugely increased representation of the North, and a basic form of 'legal aid' being the main ones).

I believe the coins aren't particularly rare, but the prices fail to recognise this!

And considering I'm trying to pull together a coin collection where the examples cost under £10, R3's going to be blank for a fair old while!

Clive (historic coinage) has one for sale at £12500. Just wished I could afford it.

I do wonder whether the prices will go up on the back of the recent discovery?

I know I looked at R3 for the first time, even though I was only window shopping. History is pretty infectious! :)

I nearly turned off the first documentary due to the antics of "the wet blanket"!

On a separate note I was gutted when Channel 4 announced that it was axing Time Team. It has been a favourite of mine since episode 1 :(

Awww. I didn't know that. Have they finally run out of things to dig, or does Phil want to spend more time with his hat? Mind you, they must all be getting a bit long in the tooth by now, even Tony.

I spoke to Mick Aston recently about this and he was saddened. Whilst he left the show for other reasons he felt that Time Team was a crucial means of communicating archaeology to the public! With the latest hype over Richard III and Richard I in the media I'm sure there'll be another show soon.

One of the few shows you could put on half-way through and still really enjoy it!
