Some staggering results by Künker

Recommended Posts

I thought some of These Prices in their auction yesterday were a bit OTT and thw Gothic Crowns seem to be on the rise. All These are hammer, i think Künker has about 20% add on and Prices are in euros. I've also skipped some of the lower end coins

Some nice looking Gothic crowns there, but definitely on the steep side of price. It always amazes me that for a mintage of only 8,000, every sale seems to have a few on offer.

BTW. I can't tell how many pictures of 1847 Gothic crowns I've looked at in the past, but it must be in the hundreds; today is the first time I've spotted the WW on the reverse.

I was just thinking that those estimates were very reasonable indeed. Then I realised you had added the actual prices realised after each link :o:blink:

Can't see exactly, but the cromwell crown die break looks smoothed. Auction houses should admit to this - in a couple of cases I've seen evidence of smoothing the die break and it being described as "early state of die break' or some similar cover up ...
