1858 Penny......5 Over?

Browsing as one does on a lazy Sunday afterboon i cam across this 1858 Penny and noticed the underside loop of the 5 had something under it, but what?

The 5 is'nt a blob. Probably better to download the picture and enlarge

similar "blobs" on the T of GRATIA and between T and O, I and A of VICTORIA. Two Die cracks one between V and I of Vic and the other just starting to show after Vic. A Die on its last legs perhaps although the hair detail is still very good.
