Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Your album is the same as my 1st album. :)

I haven't a clue where mine is.

Your coins are typical from circulation and only worth a couple of £ if that.

I can't see how nickel silver coins could be valuable.

You do have a 1889 crown which is sterling silver and will make anything up to £20 in that condition on ebay.

I'm sure the memories are more important.

My album was bought for me when I was apparently about 5 and I was born in the early 60's.

I believe it was a Smiths special.

Welcome.

That's similar to my first coin album from the late 60s. Back in those days shops like Smiths would have a whole section devoted to stamp and coin collecting. Unfortunately, no real value in the coins but you can't put a price on the memories.

Smiths did do foreign Unc sets.

I still have a couple :)

I'm surprised you don't see these on ebay....I would be tempted.

I've still got my "Rothmans Cambridge Collection of Rare Banknotes" and my set of "Banknotes of the World", with the compliments of Vosene shampoo. :)

That was my Gran… she used to collect these things, along with sets of tea cards etc. for me. I think she thought they'd be worth something one day!

You clearly have good memories of your dad. That means more than anything else. The coins are just an average accumulation - they may have meant something more to your dad, so keep the memories. :)

Obviously the coins themselves are not worth much monetarily. But you can't put any price on treasured memories of your Dad and the collection he painstakingly built up.

I'm pleased to have been given the privilege to look through it. Found it really interesting. Thanks.
