Way back in 1995 I drove to Spain 3 weeks yep We stayed at a pals house in the Dordogne and I had my tool kit..I spent .2 frigging days with a Frenchman cafe owner.. daughter was 3 months old so she was like a leech to Mrs Peter. The 2nd day was over the border into Spain.ie I was the driver. We ended up 30 kms North of Alicacante and we were only the NON PIKEYS in the village....they were only about 5ft tall...credit cards a no go.I did have a bit of weed....we did blow the village cafe

You cannot buy this....but they do like a mad English man

Does anyone else find the idea that 1995 might be considered 'the good old days' really very unsettling??

Unfortunately only the member who wrote it can edit their own post.

I'm happy to delete any if wanted, but don't want to go around removing things without peoples' say so?

Well to start things off I'm taking a well earned rest! B)

Me too, Gary!

And, it has to be said, it's all down to the coin business. It's been a life-changing year, and next year it's all about breaking away from eBay and going it alone. So I shall be spending most of my holiday working on the soon to be launched Declan Magee Coins website...

Wow Sounds like I should give up the day job and follow the champagne and caviar lifestyle of a coin dealer!!

Tweaked.

And what a quality that is to navigate this life, steering intelligently through the traffic of humanity, to happily discover you are a fair cushion away from the mainstream ugliness!

And long may that continue! :)

:)

I remember those shifts only too well! My wife's still in nursing, but took the NY shift instead! I guess having a 5-year old has its benefits! :)

All dues goes to those who do the Xmas Day shifts of course and allow families like ours to have Christmas Day together! Thank-You! :)

Certain members have rightfully voiced concerns about broardcasting going on holiday on an open forum, perhaps I didn't think it through before posting. Be rest assured the collection and other valuable are all in the bank. It's very handy having a brother who's a bank manager.

Sorry, Gary, didn't mean to sound a spoilsport!

I'm off to the mother-in-laws WITH everything I own, as that's not very much! :)

Well, much joy and merriment to all, irrespective of what you're all doing and whether it involves coins or not.

I wish you all a Most Excellent Christmas! Certainly that's what I plan to have anyway!
