I just ordered the print version and the epub version....

I'll wait to thumb through the print version but did notice in the epub version a reference to an 1860 F/P HALP penny...

That should be 1861..... for the record, but not vital to the book, it exists with both obverse 6 & obverse 7th.

Also the display of the epub file on my samsung 3 tablet, 7 inch, when using aldiko reader,is viewed properly only when held horizontally.......

looks excellent though and the electonic version will be handy, having it with me... and the hardcopy for permanent reference. ?

Bugger.

I'll make sure I go through this thread when preparing the new edition! In fact, it's a good place to mention these little probs that have crept in.

Due to the fixed layout format of the tables and some images it does mean that the ebook version doesn't really display optimally on smaller screens. Hopefully, although the formatting may be a bit skew whiff, it should all be understandable.

Am trying to copy the epub file to my phone now, but might have to wait till I get home....

I might like a pdf version for my laptop too

Is it an iPhone? Garrett has experience getting it onto the iPhone.

The ePub should also look fine on a laptop. Android, hmmm, it should be easy to copy it into whatever ebook directory you have for use with whatever reader you have (I've got an Android with Aldiko). As mentioned above, small screen devices don't display fixed layout epub files that brilliantly.

Oh. Does it give a hint as to why not?

All I did with my iphone was open the attachment from hotmail and the rest happened automatically.

Good luck getting it sorted !

Thanks Chris...

Don't know if that will work though...

I've already emailed to myself..and it didn't work..

unless the file is protected and can only be installed on the device that downloaded it..

You don't need one - just download the (free) Kindle app to your PC.

I emailed it to myself, uploaded it to my website and tried installing it from there... Did NOT work...

Redid the same with the original file.... 3.4 mg s still did not work...

Tried opening it in calibre, would not open, said not a valid ZIP file.....

I'm flummoxed for now, but I have other things to concern me for the next few days.....

Then I'll readdress the issue or challenge, if you will....

I wonder if it was somehow corrupted on download. I used Calibre to create it from the mobi file, so that should be absolutely fine. I'll email it to you.
