Try the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge.I am aware they have an extensive library of auction catalogues

I'm planning a visit once I can establish what they have and what I want to see.

Mrs Peter and the girls will happily spend a day shopping before I buy dinner.

Fitzwilliam site is not the easiest to navigate but a phone call has worked wonders.They have some smart people working there. :)

I'll see if I can get some scans from the Fitz. but it might not be until next week, although I suspect it might be just as productive by email - perhaps shoot an email Martin's way, if not I'll ask Rory nicely.
