looks interesting, but the edge looks rather bland

The sides will probably be smooth and blank and the design details will be colour printed onto it in China, Elvis-coin style!

I like the design but need the date in the exurge under Britannia.

Queenie must be getting on a bit.

Maybe we need a veiled Queen.

Can't see the Duke lasting long.

I gather that the reverse is going to be decided by open competition, so come on you lot and get cracking. I, for one, am willing to suggest Samantha Fox on the reverse - if there's room.

The nickname for the new coin will be 'Twin Peaks', then? :D

As bad as some of the Olympic 50p's

What is wrong with a good Britannia?

If Sam Fox is to appear on the reverse, and the thing has 12 sides, it gives a whole new meaning to 'threepenny bits'. :D

I wonder if they would be able to prevent ghosting with all that metal being sucked out of the obverse. I guess it would also be the first coin in modern times with two busts.

I was assuming queenie would still be on the other side, hence two busts

No, you don't get it - the Queen's head wouldn't suck out much metal compared to ... oh, never mind. :D

That would be an interesting pattern/essai with the reverse legend "Watch this space"
