Extremely Rare Pennies In Incredibly Good Condition Given Their Age

Recommended Posts

Apologies for the tongue in cheek subject heading, however, I was wondering if people could give some 'business advice'. I have been going through my granddad's pennies I inherited and now knowing that if there's a little H or KN on certain dates, makes them a more rare coin.

In so doing, I have discovered the following:

5 x 1912 H

1 x 1918 KN

2 x 1919 H

None of them are in anything better than Fine and I'm not even considering keeping them, so in terms of realising the best price for them, would people advise selling them in little "lots" (obviously limited by the fact there are fewer 1918 and 1919) or sell them all individually?

Thanks

Richard

If no better than fine, then value will be minimal. In the 1960s people stashed away the 'rare' varieties leaving them more common than the 'common' types in grades found in circulation.

You could try them individually on eBay, given two conditions :

1. List them on a 'free listings' day

2. Have adequate pictures

But then he does go on to say "apologies for the tongue in cheek subject heading". :)
