2006 Pound Coin - Cracked Die W/blob - Keep It, Ebay It, Spend It?

Hello all, it's been a while. I had some stellar advice here years ago so am back for more.

It's pretty much as the topic title says.

I did a bit of web research and see that (once again) the interesting coin in my change is not so interesting after all. So cracked die coins aren't worth much. Should I just head to the sweetshop with it, or do you think anyone would be interested in it?

What makes you say that? Looks fine to me, but you're quite right in that it won't sell for probably more than face

The quality of my photo is poor also, it's a lot brighter and shinier in real life. Obviously if it is a fake, I won't spend it anywhere. I've had fake pound coins before, they were silver underneath when you scratched them, and a lot lighter in weight - how sophisticated are the fakes these days? How can I check?

i have spent hundreds of fake pound coins , there are loads in circulation BOE sez at least 5% in circ are fakes.

Why do i say it's a fake?

The details on both the obverse and reverse are indistinct and less good than u would expect a genuine coin to have - in particular the queens hair is very flat - also there is a massive crack on the reverse royal mint would spot that and pull die out of production

P.s The alignment of the obverse and reverse often gives it away as well , while I think it's a fake i cannot really tell for sure unless i have it in hand

Check the pattern on the edge too, most of the fakes in the bridge series have crude edges that either dont line up or the spacings at the dots at the ends of the pattern <><>< . ><><> are way off.
