Recommended Posts

For Sale

1860 Farthing Mule, TB/BB, pretty good copy, really clear Teeth and Beads. Does have a small natural Flan Defect on the obverse, but never the less a nice example. $200, plus shipping.

:) You are right, Copper, it is the real thing. I didn't think how that sounded ( as above) when I wrote it! English was always my weakest subject! .....

Back to the original subject anyone see the EF grade mule (slabbed) finish on ebay at nearly £200 .

Someone was really stiitched up as it clearly was not a mule even a child could see that.

How about this one...Narrow Date 1877...

I sent them a message, along with pictures of what a Narrow Date looks like, and the President of the Company wrote me back saying he was taking the information to NGC. That was two weeks ago, and he still has it for sale.

BTW...every other dealer here in the states has one or two 1860's marked as mules...and they are not a mule! They don't let the truth get in the way of a good sale!

I emailed at least 2 years ago about that same slab.... It's been in their monthly auctions all that time till it finally got moved to ebay....

I have one slabbed just like it as well as a misattributed "with colon" variety (I forget if it's an 1841 or an 1843)....

BTW.... Remember the PCGS farthing mule debacle of several years ago??! Rather than admit an error, they essentially created a new variety...

And the new variety is called "mule but not a mule" and is 2000% more expensive than an ord toothed border coin and used by slabbing firms to extract money from their customers, thus being very useful- too themselves
