I have recently found a coin that i believe to be a naval token on one side it has a 3 masted ship in full sail and on the reverse it has george and the dragon. It has round the edge "Promissory half penny".and a date of 1706 ?

the coin is copper and the size of 30 mms diameter

I did a search on Google...found reference to a similar described coin/token.

Quote.....Copper touching ceromony ticket/token. 3 masted ship/St Micheal slaying dragon.

Peck 496. GVF. Scarce.

This was at www.croydencoinauction.co.uk on a PDF file.

I can't add anymore, but maybe a start.
