I remember the prices of the tickets as well £3.50 to see queen £3 to see thin lizzy £5.50 the who.

Wish them prices would come back you can stick a 0 on the end of any of them to see them now.

Plus the cost of actually giging have in real terms actually come down , the instruments they play ect

My first two gigs were both in April 1971. T Rex and the Rolling Stones. Each about 50p. What would a front of stage stalls ticket for a Rolling Stones show cost these days? Oh, hang on. They haven't done a small theatre show in decades, have they!

Actually. Come to think of it. I saw them at the Glasgow Apollo in May 1976 too. So they were still playing small theatres then.

I saw a Led Zep ticket from 1970 fetch over £500 on ebay , 50p was the face value.

Pretty good investment eh!!!

I like the Jam also but you were either a mod or a skinhead in the late 70s early 80s sothe specials and madness win the day. Then it was onto the new tomantic phase as they seem to be getting all the women

Oy! Totally totally wrong. The Specials were NEVER EVER a skinhead band, and Madness attracted skins only for a few gigs until the skins realised they were onto a loser. Both bands were haevily featured at Rock Against Racism gigs, etc etc.

I have the 'unofficial' LZ tour programme from 1972, sold outside venues as there was no official tour programme. Last I saw it was valued at £75, don't know what it's worth now. That too was 50p I think?
