1936 penny, weak strike?

Recommended Posts

I was hoping this would be Unc but i'ts looking more like GEF. Back of the head, parallel to the ear there's a flat spot. Is that wear or a weak strike?

Best wait for a belter for 1936, Bagerap. It shouldn't be long till one comes along for that date. No point in entertaining any doubts at all for such a common date, honestly.

Absolutely agree. Before 1967 it was the commonest penny ever by a long long way. 150 million if I remember? A better one will show in a very short time. Don't pay more than a tenner (ignore the catalogues).

After a crap day touring markets and dealers I came home to find a very pretty penny courtesy of PWA 1967. Thank you very much. Pictures later.

This sells the coin a very long way short, the colour should be a beautiful lustrous red, but the lighting knocked that straight out. I don't think I've taken more shots of a single coin in years and I still can't get this one right. But it's a real cracker.
