I haven't come across this error before.

One for the penny people on here. Must be rare?

I thought it would be days before someone gave the right answer.

It is not a c over G or anything like that. It is a clear VIG so possibly pretty rare indeed.

Excessively rare, perhaps unique!

I agree it does not look like a repair, but if not there would have to have been an erroneous puncheon, from which the die was made, and before that an erroneous master, how likely is that?

Is this coin yours? If so, can you get microscope close-ups? (I am assuming that it is not photoshopped)

What a super find!

Jerry

Wonderful, if genuine. I have never seen or heard of this error before. Let the forum know if it is genuine please.

Aha, found where you got it, and he took your best offer!

I'm glad you got a bargain from this seller, he's usually extortionately priced, as this one would have been were it a normal '62.

Well done indeed, get some proper close-ups when it arrives, my own feeling is that it has to be a repair, rather than an error elsewhere in the die production chain, though that may be impossible to prove.

Jerry

Not much from me bought an 1866 Ms 65 off neil paisley and a F18 thats scarce in decent grade R13.

One i have not put up is an 1868 i sent for slabbing.

BP1868Ab

CGS 31955

Also bought a 1918 H finest known but the picture as are most are garbage.

Pete.

Well, like to see the picture of the latter. I must say, as apparently do many others, that such claims are rather hollow ("finest known"). I find the 19H is very hard to find well struck and nicely preserved - moreso than the 18H.

I am rather hollow and been looking at your previous posts regardless of MANY others you have picked on the wrong person.

You have so much to say but never see you pass comment on being nice or pleasent just the negatives.

I suggest you smile and start passing comments that have some value or nice,if not you will be looking at the forum with no one posting.

Lots of people read/look at the forum everyday and the few that post make it interesting.

I dont give a Flying fortress if you think i am hollow ,your comments have - wound me up.

Apologies to other forum members.

Pete.

PS you have pressed the wrong button you cheeky Chappie.

Wha! Leave it Pete. In the scheme of things minor misunderstandings don't amount to of a hill of beans.

BTW: Has anyone ever actually SEEN a hill of beans? Why beans?!?!

You're a good bloke, and well liked here. All will seem utterly inconsequential tomorrow.

Rise above old bean, rise above…….
