After Britt ?

Your on the wrong indicator Matt ;)

Am I? I thought the colon after BRITT was closer to the T in the ME and because of that it should point more directly to a tooth? Sorry if I'm being an idiot, that's probably why it's got stops.

I think the bad picture is throwing me off, I don't think I'm wrong about the colon pointing to a tooth though, here's an ME (the first) and the normal '26 (second).

Thanks Pies, I was literally just looking at that site as well :D The colons are too close on the picture I posted for it to be an ME, but the direction they point in is strange. Like I said I think it's the having to zoom in on the picture that threw me off.

Very nice, thank you for the link too. I'm not sure why I couldn't find it, does the site give you more results if you sign up? Perhaps that's why it wasn't showing.

They give you just a selection of the recently completed lots if you don't logon. However if you know the lot number and auction number you can build their URL without much difficulty

Probably not all too exciting for most of you who have had one for an age, but I've been waiting to pick up one of these for a couple of years now. Another box ticked! :)

Thanks Pete ;)

I keep having that same problem too, previous posts stay in the message box and it's a nightmare trying to delete the quote boxes. I think it's a caching problem because I can't find a way to stop it..

Thank you Bernie, a couple of areas on it that will benefit from a little TLC but very happy to add one to the collection!

Interesting - another obverse G + partial ONF. I've yet to see an obverse G with full ONF or an obverse H with partial ONF. By the time obverse H (Freeman 5) was introduced, the bottom leg must have completely worn away or been filled.

Did anyone here buy this 1922 penny. I couldn't make my mind up whether it was a dot on trident 1922, but once it went past £25 I decided it was probably one deceptive eBay picture too many.

Difficult to say.....  I would be tempted to say no, however there is a hint of a dot in the image.  Whether that is a trick of lighting, a faint actual dot, or something else I can't say for sure...

A substantial risk for the price paid, unless the buyer intends returning it if he/she is disappointed...

I was thinking about bidding on it, but I had just bought what I thought was one, that turned out not to be one, so I was a little gun shy to do it again! LOL

I didn't buy it, but I did sell it. It was the same one as this one below that I posted in this thread. It's a little difficult to see in hand and without a bigger picture, so I wasn't very happy keeping it in my collection under that classification. I decided to re-list it as a normal 1922 penny without any mention of the dot. It might be a dot penny, but the wear is too significant to be conclusive, at least in my mind. What do you think of the picture I posted here when I first bought it (which was a BIN at 10 pound)? I was lucky to be able to risk it at a low price, but I re-listed it at 99p and made no mention that it 'could be a dot penny'. I'm not buying coins to make money, let alone deceive people into paying more.

The picture is from my iPhone and I didn't do anything to it, no light trickery or attempt to make it look like something it's not. Should I tell them it's not one, re-list it and then write "THIS IS NOT A DOT PENNY" in the description, because I'm actually not even sure myself that it's not one?

I know your comment wasn't directed at me personally but I was a little disheartened by it because I specifically sold it without alluding to the "dot", so as not to make people think that it might be one.

Thanks Nordie, by deceptive I meant the picture not you!

recently wasted money on what I thought were both an interesting 1862 and a possible 1863 with an usual 3, both were bog standard when they arrived.
