I dont understand why some peolple are such a pr***s!

I bought a coin from Londoncoins in december lot 2335

http://londoncoins.co.uk/?page=Pastresults&searchlot=2335&searchtype=2

I havent taken any photos but what i received was completely different coin.

aEF at most with problems. Rim nicks, damage to the ear, discoloured field.

Emailed them, no answer phoned them and said ill send it back.

Ok.

Send it back just before christmas and got reply:

I have received the coin , it corresponds to the description so can you please let me know the reason for the return???

I replied its not the coin pictured in lot 2335 and i would like my money back or the coin from the picture.

Got reply:

What do you mean ??/ We did not make any description mistake or grade so i still can not understand the reason for refund???

Phoned em up. VERY RUDE woman nearly shouting at me that i wont get money back, they are busy and she cant deal with it. Its the same coin.

Told her thats fine i can wait have a look at the coin pictured in lot 2335 and the one you send me and you will know exactly what i mean.

She said she will get back to me by the end of week.

Did i mention she was very rude?

She sounded like she would beat me up if i was next to her.

Anyway...

It could be so nice and easy...

That picture for lot 2335 looks like a matt proof. The rim looks too square and uniform for it to be a currency strike.

Goom,

The coin listed with London has a pronounced "dot" on the obverse (under the ear, and below the hair)...I would think that would be a sure way of telling if it is the same coin!

You are looking at the September auctio Bob And not the December auction with the same lot number. Soooo anyway we know how the secretary i's but not giving ANYTHING To compare against is a bit pointless. What i Would say is that there seems to be a scratch on the OBV assuming we are talking about the florin? This runs from the F in FD and goes towards the nose, so a bit of a marker IF it's the same coin or not, but Take pictures for us next time because we're ONLY going by your say so against what we can see on their website Edited by azda

Yeah i regret i didnt take a picture but didnt think it would be necessary at the time.

Its completely different coin. I mean it is a 1902 florin but when you look at it...

Anyway. Where do i go from here?

If she refuses to issue a refund i mean?

Small claim court?

As soon as i get the coin back ill post a picture.

Well lets hope you don't get the coin back but if you do the pictures will be interesting. You should download and keep their lot image just incase it disappears

Was There another 1902 in the same auction that may resemble what you got? Perhaps they've mixed up the Coins and whoever has yours in'nt going to be complaining

Well she strikes me of loving her customers as much as Sybil Faullty loved finding the builder O'reilly in their hotel Faulty towers
