I seek high resolution scans of Maundy Money

Hi folks.

You might know that I started to write a disquisition on British coinage as a kind of spare time project. Two more authors from Canada and the United Kingdom (that person is a member of this forum as well) are involved in this long term project by now.

Our aim is to show every minted denomination, year and variation. Our work covers the era of the monarchs Edward VII to Elizabeth II, having a volume of 300 pages with more than 2,000 coloured coin pictures plus numerous B/W images in order to show variations in more detail. The book is intended to be a reference for coin collectors without evaluations.

That project is time and money consuming. We need high resolution scans of Maundy Money minted in the 20th and 21st century. I own a dozen of sets already, but it will be impossible to by every date set in a reasonable time scale.

Can anyone here provide us with picture material of high grade stuff? Please let me know. We would give credit to any provided pictures of course.

I believe Bill Pugsley (a member on here) has every 20th C Maundy set - and they will be high grade - you could try PMing him?

Bill's coins will be in CGS slabs however, but you will at least have a ready source via the images on the CGS website.

It's an interesting thought re who holds the image rights? CGS I'm guessing, though I'm sure Bill could swing it for you, i would think him highly regarded by them.

LCA had two massive lots of Maundy money sold in the previous auction covering every year from 1837 to 2014 I believe. Why dont you ask them for the buyer's details and explain your effort to the.

At this stage it becomes very tedious to find and to afford missing rarities, gold coins, Maundy Money, modern bullion and commemorative coins (minted in precious metals)

I hadn't realised how difficult it is to image these tiny shiny coins, I collect mostly 30mm copper. Every little speck of dust turns into a boulder

Yes, dust is a big problem. I shouted out load several times because the frustration...

The original image with 1200 dpi would be perfect!!!
