Counterfeit British pound coin

Recommended Posts

Guest Bruce Broker

Hello,

A while ago I posted a message about a coin that a couple of you thought was probably a counterfeit pound coin. My followup question is: What should I do with it? If it is counterfeit, I would think that it wouldn't have much value to most collectors. Thus, although I suppose it would be illegal, what do you think of the idea of spending it back into circulation?

Yes, it's illegal. Seeing as you're in America, I don't see quite how it can be put back into circulation. Keep it!

I'm in the U.S. now, but that doesn't mean that I don't occasionally go to the U.K. If you are reading this, what would you do with it? Be honest....

Add to your collection of coins, or find a collector that is interested in counterfeit money.

I know some are, but I am not sure about a coin that is still in circulation.

If you dont want it then spend it on something...generally most shop keepers do not know the difference between fakes and the real thng :)
