George III token?

Hi All,

I know its very worn but I've always wanted to know more info about this coin/token. Date is 1811.

That looks like a 'BRUTUS' token. A Conder from my Granddads birthplace of Walthamstow (which was then very much Essex, now it's London E17). But I could be mistaken. Has to be a Conder though, i'd say.

Regional tokens issued by local authorities, merchants, factories, firms etc at that time. They served as a local substitute for small change and were guaranteed to against regal coinage.

Do a google search, the Americans love them for some reason (more so than their own countrymen!)

Your token is a "Vincit Amor Patria" or translated "love of my country prevails. Yes its from the Rolling Mills at Walthamstow.
