Advice on this 1935 raised edge crown

Recommended Posts

I would like to once again harness your knowledge just to ask what you think...

Grade, potential value, and whether appears to be cleaned?

Many thanks in advance!

Gareth

Proof without cameo contrast (so not an early strike presumably). Can not see hairlines so hard to guess grade. I think I may see a hint of such so will go "PCGS P63". Value, about 400-500 quid retail IMO. This does not appear to be the error edge variety...

The plot thickens...it was on eBay - and a private listing which I don't like...

Anyway I bid up to £409 - and was outbid by another 'private bidder' (Yeh right we all know it was the sellers other account!) then surprise surprise I get a second chance offer as the bidder who won the item is 'away in China'...apparently...

Any what do you think I should do? Is it worth £409? I said I would offer £375 instead...but regretting that now maybe...

I normally run a mile from sellers like that, painful experience tells me that if they are going to shill their item there will likely be other problems too

I concur with Paulus. I never take up second chance offers because I don't like being taken for a ride.

Agreed. I think with the picture provided this is in the 350-375max range.

That story brings back a favourite line from "Forrest Gump" (a must see IMO):

"Run, Forrest, run!"

Going to leave it!

I can't understand why eBay allows private listings like these! They just get abused all the time.

Name and shame....

Seller on eBay is: wcvinc.
