I've racked my brain and stared at my proof halfpenny until my eyes were sore, and I have concluded that it is a bronzed proof Observe 1 Reverse B. I couldn't tell the difference between the two reverse varieties until I looked at the Nicholson ones. I don't know if it was ever in the proof set but I do know that there were more minted individually and given to VIP's.

Hi everyone!

When will be the next coin fair in Lonon or near London? And where was exactly the last fair? Very far from Luton? (the airport where I can arrive...).

In the first months of 2005 there will be the direct fly between Parma and Luton and it would be great for me have a weekend in London in the same period of a coin fair.... ;)

bye

Alex

Hi Everyone!

Future dates for the London Coin Fair are as follows:

5 February 2005

11 June 2005

5 November 2005

Although most fairs are held at the weekend, there are a couple of 2-day fairs which take place Friday and Saturday. The ones I am aware of (and exhibit at) are York and Harrogate.

The next York Fair is on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th January 2005.

Cheers

Andy

PS Chris - good to finally meet you at the London Fair!

And you Andy, and welcome in here.

Thanks Chris - let's see how long before I'm no longer a Newbie! :)

I can't remember how many posts you have to make, I think it's only 10. Of course, it means Newbie in here, not in coins.

That's good to hear, Chris. 10 - I think I can just about manage that!

BTW - will you be at the York Fair in Jan?

I'll probably be stuck indoors in January. I cannot commit to much during Jan-March as the weather gets severe here and I cannot guarantee leaving the street, let alone get to an airport.

We already have a good 3 inch snow covering here in the Erzgebirge region (where I am). It's about that time when the TR7 has to be put into hibernation.

Fair enough!

The 2-day fair at Harrogate should be on in the Spring - so maybe see you there.

I must admit to being a bit of a Southerncentric, in that I have not yet bothered to travel outside of London to a coin fair :( Nothing against the Northen collectors (in fact most of this forum are Northerers I think, and probably more than 50% of my customers too, going by the addresses I send things too).

I suppose I'm turned off my the extra fees for accomodation and the looong drive. Perhaps you could sing the praises.
